Deployment Welcome Home Ceremony, Fort Stewart, Georgia
We almost did not make it, as we ran accross the street to make it accross before the buses pulled up. My heart started racing thinking Jason, my husband was about to walk by, but he didn't. So, we stood there and waited and then out of the tree line we saw them. The soldiers were marching onto the field. The speaker said a few things and then they dismissed them to their families. I stood there looking, but it took what felt like forever for me to finally see my husband. I kept thinking he was going to sneak up behind me and scare me, but he didn't. It was such an amazing feeling to see him again and just enjoy each second of being in his arms. We were together again. We were a family again. There is nothing like that feeling. Nothing. Looking back, I realize how much stronger the deployment made me, but I sure don't want to do it again.
