1 Cup raw unsalted cashews
1 Cup raw almonds
1 cup pecans
1/2 cup cranberries
1/2 cup dried cherries (optional)
1 cup walnuts

Put in a storage container and shake. It's that easy :D

3 Day Refresh - What did I eat during the 3 day Cleanse?

Here are a few photos of the foods I enjoyed while doing the 3 day refresh. It's not too bad and you usually lose around 3-5 pounds and 3-5 inches in your waist. It is fantastic for dropping inches before vacation or a trip to visit family for the holidays. Gotta look good in those family photos, right! Lol :D

Healthy Slow Cooker Butternut Squash Stew



Slow Cooker Beef and Butternut Squash Stew


Ingredients:

1 package lean beef stew meat, or lean stir fry cubed meat
1 medium onion, quartered in chunks
1 yellow pepper, cut in large chunks
1 red pepper, cut in large chunks
3 garlic cloves, grated or chopped
2 medium roma tomatoes, diced
1.5 cups beef stock
1 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp ground pepper

1 hand full chopped flat leaf parsley

1 butternut squash, peeled & chopped cubes
2 new potatoes, quartered





Directions:
Place meat in slow cooker, add salt, pepper, onion, bell pepper, cloves, tomatoes, stock and parsley.
Cook on high for 4 hours (my slow cooker runs more hot than normal “high”, so it turned the peppers into mush- still super good though :)
Add butternut squash and potato one hour before serving.

Serve with 1/2 cup brown rice. 


You could also cook on low, but I have not tested it out this way.

Date Night In Savannah: Bella Napoli ~ It's like a trip back to Italy!



I just love when we get to have date nights together. For so long we could not afford to go out to eat except on very rare occasions, so being able to do this together is such a blessing. It's important to spend time together without the stressors of everyday life. It's important to invest and make time for one another. We have been married for over 15 years by the grace of God. We have had many ups and downs and have learned and been through some tough stuff. It will either make you stronger or break you. 15 years of our marriage was spent as a military couple which in itself is so difficult. Deployments and hardships, the low pay -- well the first 10 years or so -- the emotions of not having family close by, moving every 2-3 years -- its HARD! But, thankfully, after Jason served in the Army for 22 years he was able to retire early and now has a civilian job which allows him to be home with us at night and on the weekends instead of being across the world in a dangerous place. I am so thankful for this! He is my world and I love him so very much. Yes, sometimes I get so mad at him I just want to sign the divorce papers, but I cannot live without this man. He is my rock.

Spider Web 7 Layer Taco Dip

Try using fat free beans, mix greek yogurt with taco seasoning instead of sour cream, go light with the cheese, add fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and onion. Top with greek yogurt piped on top with a plastic ring spider for decor! Add seasoned ground turkey to kick up the protein content.

Healthy & Clean Protein Pumpkin Muffins


Make these Protein Pumpkin Muffins for busy mornings when you need a quick healthy breakfast on the go!

Yield: 12 servings, 1 muffin each
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  •  ¼ cup pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 large banana, break apart to fit into blender
  • ½ cup almond butter
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 scoops Protein Powder, Vanilla flavor (I used the Beachbody Recharge Protein)
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. sea salt 
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp cinnamon


Preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Prepare twelve muffin cups by lining with muffin papers or coating with spray (*Use a silicone pan for easy clean up!)
3. Place eggs, pumpkin, banana, vanilla, almond butter, and maple syrup in blender; cover. Blend for 30 seconds.
4. Add Protein Powder, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg; cover. Blend until smooth.
5. Divide batter evenly among prepared muffin cups.
6. Bake 16 to 18 minutes, or until golden brown and tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
7. Transfer muffins to rack; cool.

21 Day Fix: 1 muffin - 1/2 red 1/2 orange and 1/2 blue
Use a silicone pan for easy clean up!

3 Day Refresh Tomato Cucumber Salad Recipe

3 Day Refresh Recipe: Tomato and Cucumber Salad
Makes 2 Servings.
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium cucumber, quartered and sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • A few slices of red onion, or dice
  • 1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning 
  • 1 pinch Himalayan salt (pink salt)
Combine cucumber, tomatoes, onion, seasoning in a large bowl. Add vinegar, lemon juice, oil and toss to coat.
