Smoky Southwest Seasoning Recipe


When you can, make your own seasoning mixes to avoid unnecessary preservatives and especially be on the lookout to avoid MSG. MSG has been linked to headaches and can even increase hunger and lead to weight gain. Try to avoid it when possible. This recipe is from the Beachbody 21 Day Fix Fitness Program Nutrition Guide Booklet.

Smoky Southwest Seasoning Recipe

This seasoning is great on chicken, eggs, and spinach to give your dish that southwest flair.

1 tbsp Chili Powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
1 tsp sea salt

Mix together in a small jar.

Tip: Keep old spice jars.
