Juicy Flavorful Healthy Turkey Burgers
Yields 5 thick burgers
Ingredients:
- 1.5 lbs lean ground turkey
- 1/3 cup gluten free bread crumbs (panko, or regular bread crumbs work too)
- 1 Tbsp Braggs liquid Amino's, or Worcestershire Sauce
- pinch salt
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder or 1 clove of garlic grated or chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper or a few twists of fresh pepper
- 1/4 tsp rosemary
- 1/2 tsp thyme
Directions:
Place turkey, 1/3 cup bread crumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. Use hands to combine. Shape into 5 patties. Grill outside on a hot grill until the internal temperature reaches 160 - 165*. Serve on a hamburger bun, bagel thin, or English muffin with a little ketchup and mustard. You can even top it off with some fresh spinach, tomato and onion.
If you use a 3 lb package of turkey, double the recipe and add a little more bread crumbs. Yields approx 13 - 4oz burgers
These freeze and reheat well in the microwave. Serve with 1/2 cup barley and steamed broccoli for a quick and easy meal.
