Body Beast Chili Recipe

Beast Chili

Sommer Tucker shared this Body Beast recipe with me. It is so delicious.  It became a staple in her home and it has quickly become one of my favorites as well. My kids love it too!  I top mine with a tablespoon of greek yogurt. She tops hers with avocado and fresh tomato.  
*I did modify this recipe a little. I added a can of small diced tomatoes, did not drain the beans. Added both kidney and chili beans and only used 1 lb of turkey.

§  1 tsp olive oil
§  1.5 lbs of lean ground turkey meat
§  1 medium white onion, chopped
§  1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
§  3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
§  1.5 tsp ground cumin
§  1 tbsp chili powder
§  1/2 tsp sea salt
§  1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
§  1 (15 oz) can kidney beans or pinto, drained (get low sodium)
§  1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce (no sugar added variety)

How To Make It
1. Heat oil in large sauce pan over medium heat. Add Turkey, onion, bell pepper, and garlic
2. Cook stirring occasionally, for 10 min or until turkey is no longer pink.
3. Add cumin, chili powder, salt and cayenne pepper. Stir and cook for 1 min
4. Stir in kidney beans and tomato sauce, bring to boil
5. Reduce heat to low and gently simmer, stir occasionally for 15-20 min or until thickened
6. Serve warm and top with 1/4 avocado and fresh diced tomatoes (not included in caloric numbers)
Calories: 288 calories in 1 cup
