Back to the Gym

Battle of the Buldge

Everyone always gets in the spirit of Fitness after the New Year, so I had to jump on the band wagon, although it took me a few weeks to get moving. So, I thought I would share my workout goals and what I am doing, since it has always worked so well in the past with keeping the weight off.

I try to go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do at least 30 min of cardio. I usually walk fast at a 5%-10% incline or do the elliptical. I also include weights into my workouts because the more muscle you have, the more fat your body will metabolize. I want to tone and not build muscle so I am doing lighter weights and high reps 12-15, 2-3 sets. Free weights are always better than the machines because you have to use balance and control the weights, but if you have to use the machines then its better than nothing at all. I just do not see results when I use the machines vs going into the free weight room.

I just started my workout regimen about 2 weeks ago, so I will just take it slow and steady through to Summertime. If you can only do 20 minutes of toning one day because your busy then just do that, its better than nothing.
